On the Puglia airports website, select “Bari”. Scrolling down you will find the section illustrated in the image below (click here for the direct link) which will give you all the options of public transport available to reach your destination directly from the “Karol Wojtyla” airport of Bari Palese. Without leaving the site, you can purchase all tickets online by selecting your choices.
From Bari Palese by bus
Choosing the bus option, you’ll be redirected to the Marozzi company where you can purchase tickets to reach the city center or different destinations including Brindisi, Matera, Trani, Lecce etc. etc.
From the airport the shuttles of the Tempesta company (click on the link to view timetables and buy tickets online) will take you to Piazza A. Moro where there are the central station, FAL and the Ferrovie del Nord Barese stations (see the section From Bari Palese by Train). Tickets can also be purchased on board and the bus stop is located once you have passed the arrivals gate, exiting the airport on the left (you will have to pass the lobby where the rental car stands are).
Once you arrive in the center of Bari there are different bus companies such as Marino, Italo, Cotrap, Flixbus with widespread coverage of the Apulian territory or to continue on to destinations in Basilicata, Calabria and Campania.
From Bari Palese by train
If your chosen means of transport is the train you will be redirected to the Ferrovie Nord Barese website which, with a quick connection to central Bari, will allow you to travel by various public transports.
Once you arrive in central Bari you can keep traveling with:
- the national railway line for many destinations;
- the FAL company (Ferrovie Appulo Lucane) which will take you to Matera and Potenza with many stops that cover the Bari province.
Keep in mind that these are three separate train stations, minutes away one from the other.
From Bari airport by bike
New for cyclists is the possibility of reaching or leaving Bari Palese airport by bike.
At the Bike Facilities Point, located on the ground floor next to the Bari North Railway Station and easily reachable following the signposts, it is possible to disassemble and reassemble the bicycle with all the necessary tools.
