Miglionico is a little town close to Matera, Basilicata.

Miglionico rises on a hill between the Bradano and Basento rivers. While walking along the road that leads to the village, looking up, the majestic Malconsiglio castle dominates the panorama of the hill, known for the historic Conjure of the barons against King Ferdinand I of Naples. The episode of the past relives every year in the homonymous historical re-enactment set right inside the castle.

But once in the heart of Miglionico you can also be fascinated by the splendid mother church of Santa Maria Maggiore which houses works of art of rare beauty.

In the territory of this interesting town there is also the San Giuliano Regional Reserve, an artificial lake originated by the barrier of the river Bradano, between the municipalities of Matera, Miglionico, Grottole.
